Kroos: Leverkusen's selling players without strengthening the team might make it difficult to break into the top five; it has nothing to do with my team from back then.

Tony Kroos recently discussed Bayer Leverkusen's transfer activity this summer on the podcast "Einfach mal Luppen," and questioned the club's signings and squad adjustments.

Kroos said, "I think Leverkusen's transfer window has been strange." He believes there are questions about the team's personnel changes in the midfield position.

He specifically mentioned Robert Andrich's situation. Bayer Leverkusen coach Carles Martinez had previously handed the captain's armband to Tapsoba, indicating that Andrich wasn't the first choice in the midfield competition. Kroos expressed his bewilderment: "You completely marginalize a Robert while simultaneously selling players in the same position; it seems very strange to me."

Furthermore, Kroos believes that Leverkusen lost several key players this summer but failed to make reinforcements of the same level.

"This has little to do with the Leverkusen team I played for back then," Kroos said.

He stated frankly that, given the current quality of their squad, Leverkusen would find it difficult to compete for a top-five finish in the Bundesliga: "This is regrettable."
