According to L'Equipe, Fabian Ruiz said on TF1's Téléfoot program that winning the Ballon d'Or is his dream.
“For any footballer, to receive personal recognition for their efforts this season and in the previous seasons is a dream. I’ve been fortunate to win many team trophies and some individual awards, but why not dream of getting as close as possible to lifting this wonderful trophy this year? Winning the Ballon d'Or would be an honor for me,” said Fabian Ruiz.
“I don’t like being in the spotlight or being the center of attention, but I think I can accept that this year based on my season, my hard work, and the trophies I’ve won,” the 30-year-old added, who had been sidelined from January to April with a knee injury. “From a collective perspective, I’ve won everything. In terms of individual accolades worldwide, the only thing I’m missing is the Ballon d’Or, to gain universal recognition.”
“With these trophies, I’m at the best stage of my career, both physically and in terms of match performance. I’ve improved a lot since Enrique came to the team,” Fabian Ruiz continued. The midfielder officially extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2028 last Friday, with an option for another year.
This week, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique stated that someone in the team should win the trophy: "We have players who have won the Champions League. We have Fabian Ruiz who won the World Cup. And there's Dembele, who won the Ballon d'Or last season."
