Everton's performance in this summer's transfer window has been questioned, with the team's signings failing to meet expectations and the squad appearing somewhat thin. However, Dieusbury Hall believes the team shouldn't dwell on disappointment but should focus on the existing squad.
He said: "I saw those distraught reactions, and to be honest, it annoyed me a bit. Everyone wants the club to sign all the targets and have a perfect squad, but there are many players in the dressing room who all want to achieve results with this club. It's easy for outside discussions to overlook that."
Dusbury Hall said that manager Moyes also asked the team not to be influenced by outside opinions: "We know things haven't gone exactly as planned, but now it's our turn to control what we can control. We can't make excuses for anything; when we step onto the pitch, we have to perform for ourselves and the club."
Dusbury Hall believes that Everton, despite having a small squad, still possesses sufficient strength: "Our starting eleven is very strong, fully capable of European-level play. We have 17 or 18 players at a very high level. Of course, you always hope to bring in two or three more players, but many things in football are beyond your control."
He also spoke about his collaboration with Moyes. Dusbury Hall said the manager is demanding and always looking for areas for improvement, an attitude that inspires the players.
“He’s always been very energetic and very committed to everything. As a player, when you see your manager like that, you want to step up and make things meaningful.”
When discussing the team's goals for this season, Duisbury Hall stated that Everton are fully capable of qualifying for European competitions. He recalled that last season the team was very close to the Champions League zone, but their form dipped in the final stages, ultimately finishing 13th.
"Of course, we can absolutely compete for European qualification. We experienced that last year, and if we are in that position again this year, we will know where we went wrong and learn from it."
He also believes Everton must set higher goals to avoid complacency later in the season. "You have to set those goals for yourself; it keeps everyone focused and raises the bar continuously."
Besides the league, Everton also hope to make a breakthrough in cup competitions. Duisbury Hall stated that the team hasn't won a major trophy in years and hopes to bring one home for the club.
Meanwhile, Dusbury Hall is getting closer to joining the England squad. He revealed that he has been informed that he is now being considered for Tuchel's new England squad.
“I know that now is the closest I’ve ever come to the England squad. It’s up to me now. I have to make the manager feel, ‘I have to call him up.’ Nobody will give me that opportunity for nothing.”
If he can maintain his current form, the door to England might really open for this Everton midfielder.
